Sodium butyrate ameliorates hepatic steatosis via modulating gut microbiota in fructose-exposed mice

چکیده

Sodium butyrate (NaB) can regulate lipid metabolism and inhibit hepatic steatosis. This study aimed to investigate whether NaB alleviate fructose-induced steatosis via remodeling the gut microbiota evaluate anti-fatty liver mechanisms. The results showed that NaB-remodeled significantly alleviated increased plasma uric acid fructose levels. Furthermore, both abundance of Lactobacillus altered levels amino acids [upregulating gamma-amino butyric (GABA) downregulating L-glutamic L-arginine] in fructose-exposed mice. correlation analysis GABA positively correlated with abundance, might promote reduction triglyceride content. Further studies confirmed reduced deposition mouse hepatocytes induced pretreatment in vitro. These findings suggested could ameliorate by regulating microbiota.

Inhibiting glycosphingolipid synthesis ameliorates hepatic steatosis in obese mice.

UNLABELLED Steatosis in the liver is a common feature of obesity and type 2 diabetes and the precursor to the development of nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), cirrhosis, and liver failure. It has been shown previously that inhibiting glycosphingolipid (GSL) synthesis increases insulin sensitivity and lowers glucose levels in diabetic rodent models. Here we demonstrate that inhibiting GSL syn...

Bezafibrate ameliorates diabetes via reduced steatosis and improved hepatic insulin sensitivity in diabetic TallyHo mice

OBJECTIVE Recently, we have shown that Bezafibrate (BEZ), the pan-PPAR (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor) activator, ameliorated diabetes in insulin deficient streptozotocin treated diabetic mice. In order to study whether BEZ can also improve glucose metabolism in a mouse model for fatty liver and type 2 diabetes, the drug was applied to TallyHo mice. METHODS TallyHo mice were divi...

Activation of PPARα Ameliorates Hepatic Insulin Resistance and Steatosis in High Fructose–Fed Mice Despite Increased Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress

Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress is suggested to cause hepatic insulin resistance by increasing de novo lipogenesis (DNL) and directly interfering with insulin signaling through the activation of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and IκB kinase (IKK) pathway. The current study interrogated these two proposed mechanisms in a mouse model of hepatic insulin resistance induced by a high fructose (...

Docosahexaenoic Acid Ameliorates Fructose-Induced Hepatic Steatosis Involving ER Stress Response in Primary Mouse Hepatocytes

The increase in fructose consumption is considered to be a risk factor for developing nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). We investigated the effects of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) on hepatic lipid metabolism in fructose-treated primary mouse hepatocytes, and the changes of Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress pathways in response to DHA treatment. The hepatocytes were treated with fructose, ...

Sitagliptin can inhibit the development of hepatic steatosis in high-fructose diet-fed ob/ob mice

The beneficial effect of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibition on diet-induced extra-pancreatic effects, especially on liver tissue remains poorly understood. Thus, we made the experimental designs as follows; five-week-old male ob/ob mice, which develop type 2 diabetic mellitus and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease by taking a high-carbohydrate diet (HCD), were divided into a group in which a HCD w...
